Call for Papers
New Mexico State
University will host the 23rd Biennial Mogollon Archaeology Conference
on October 8-10, 2026 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. The conference
will be sponsored by the Anthropology Graduate Student Organization and
the New Mexico State University Anthropology Department and is to be
held at the Corbett Center Auditorium on the NMSU Campus.
Papers, presentations, or
special sessions are invited that relate to the archaeology of the
Mogollon region in the broadest sense including Mimbres and Jornada
Mogollon, Northern Chihuahua, WSMR, Ft. Bliss and the Mogollon Rim areas.
Relevant papers relating to protohistoric and historic populations in
the region are also welcome. Please submit your paper abstract
using one of the forms below before
August 15, 2026 to the Conference Chair Dr. William Walker (wiwalker@nmsu.edu) with cc to the Editor Dr. Lonnie Ludeman (lcludeman@zianet.com).
Abstracts will be reviewed by the
Conference Program Committee and Notifications of acceptance will be
sent no later than two weeks past the date of submission.
Anyone interested in
organizing a Special Session should prepare a proposal
including session title, a list of participants, abstract, and submit
it before August 15, 2026 to
wiwalker@nmsu.edu with cc to lcludeman@zianet.com for review and
possible inclusion in the program. Notifications of acceptance will be
sent no later than two weeks past the date of your submission.
