Parking
Parking in lots other than those expressively shown in brown for visitors at the NMSU Parking Website will result in a ticket which can be very expensive.
Parking is at a premium at NMSU and there is strict enforcement so you
will be caught since there is aggressive and constant patrolling. A
rough summary of the regulations is shown below with full
restrictions given in the NMSU parking website
link below:
For Thursday 10-08-2026 after 4:30 PM Free parking no permit reqired when parking in visitor, commuter, student, faculty/staff, and metered spaces. Before 4:30 PM you must obtain an E- permit.
For Friday 10-09-2026 before 4:30 PM a Daily E-Permit is Required
unless you park in the visitor (Brown) lots shown on Map, otherwise you
must register for a free E-permit and put it on the dashboard to park
in visitor, commuter, student, or
faculty/staff spaces. Parking in Metered spaces is quite expensive and
may be limited in parking duration. The E-Permit is easily obtained at
no cost from the NMSU Parking website. With the E-Permit there are many
parking spaces south of the Corbett Center if you come before 8:15 AM.
For Saturday 10-10-2026 FREE Parking no permit required to
park anywhere in visitor, commuter, student, or faculty/staff spaces.
You may park south and west of the Corbett Center.
